This is your chance to contribute to a song that will be on Lukas’ new album. Here is how it works:

Buy and download the instrumental track that Lukas has written.
Submit lyrics, melody, spoken word, vocal overdub, instrumentation – whatever you feel would go well with the provided track – by email to melissajkramer@gmail.com with your legal name, address, and telephone number. Fake names or submissions made on behalf of others will not be accepted. The submissions will not be made public. Submissions that use the creative property of any other person will be rejected. DO NOT USE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY THAT BELONGS TO ANYONE ELSE. ALL CONTENT SUBMITTED MUST BE 100% YOUR OWN CREATIVE CONTENT AND MAY NOT TAKE FROM THE WORK OF ANOTHER.
After all submissions have been reviewed, Lukas will select a winner(s).
The winner(s) will be listed on the album credits as contributors to the song. Lukas will personally telephone the contest winner(s) and discuss the finished product.

Yes, the rumors are true: the band known as Daylight Division is no more. The truth of the matter is that there was just not the right chemistry within the band. But please don’t take this as sad news, because it is actually great news. Because I have been so busy working on other projects and have been stretched really thin, this frees me to work on my solo record and continue to bring my music to all of you (who are so wonderful to want it).

Hello All,

A few weeks ago, our rescue saved a 6 month old blue nose pittie puppy from euthanasia literally 15 minutes before he was to die!
Another rescue was supposed to take him and backed out after he had been pulled from the shelter. Because it was an emergency situation, we agreed to take him.
Unfortunately, we were not made aware of his medical condition prior to this... and turns out he has Mange. Which for many of you who do not know what it is, it is highly contagious. Since we have other animals, he was not able to actually come to our place and we certainly were not about to return him to the shelter where he was scheduled to die only 15 minutes later!!!

That being said, poor johnny has been stuck in boarding at the vetrinarians office which is costing us hundreds of dollars for a rescue that was never actually ours.
I never ask for help unless we actually need it, and we really really do.The rescue that bailed him is not contributing financially to his care AT ALL, and the bill gets higher each day that he is there. It is currently over 400 but by this time next week when his mange is finally gone, it will have doubled.

Please share this with your friends, spread the word and help us help johnny get healthy and into a loving home instead of in a cold isolation room at the vets.

Hey everyone.
I'm writing this on behalf of Johnny, the adorable little puppy with Mange rescued from east valley whom you all might recall.....He was the lone survivor on a day when a HOARD of dogs was put down there. I have never cried so hard about a euth, as that one was HUGE. this was on Halloween.

*Rockstar Rescue*, an amazing group I cherish was kind enough to open their hearts to the the beloved Johnny. Unfortunately, Johnny has to go into boarding while he was being treated for Mange as RR has a ton of other animals ( they are quite amazing) and that all got very expensive very fast...
right now I believe we're looking in the ballpark of $300-$400 dollars for his bills!!!! This was NOT expected.

Can ANYONE help with ANYTHING? no matter how small, even $5, or $10, or heck even $7!!! anything...Kendra of RR was the one kind enough to step up and take this mangey little man when noone else would...so the least we could do is send a little money to support his treatment....It's b/c of this animal angel that he is even alive.... SO PLEASE, PLEASE , anything...and if you absolutely CANT, forward it on to someone who can.

Album Artwork Contest – The Unreleased Demos

Lukas Rossi is announcing a new contest for his fans! Lukas' newest music "The Unreleased Demos" needs an album cover, and he'd love the fans to assist in creating the official Lukas Rossi artwork.

If you haven't already listened to the music, please visit Lukas Rossi's music page on the official website: http://www.lukasrossionline.com/musicdownloads/ .

The contest guidelines are as follows:

- Album art must be original creative content. You may use your own photos or anything else artistic that you've created.
- Artwork should be in one of the following file formats: JPG, GIF or PNG.
- The image must be a perfect square and at least 1600 x 1600
- Artwork must have a minimum resolution of 72 dpi, preferably higher.
- Images cannot contain your name, email address, URLs, logos, trademarks, or any other images unless you own them
- Lukas Rossi is not responsible for the unauthorized use of images of a third party, or any infringement upon the work of another party.
- The Album artwork must contain the words "The Unreleased Demos" and "Lukas Rossi"
- The artwork will be viewed as a small 'thumbnail' on websites, so the words and images must be legible at a small size and not blurry
- The artwork should be in sync with Lukas Rossi's image and music
- Each contest participant can only submit one item for contest consideration

Ron Weiss

I met a beautiful man a few years back who really has been through a lot in life like us all.. he was a man of honor and poise ,,,, he became very close to me and my wife,, his name is Ron Weiss. Ron was a huge fan of aviation, and built his own airplane, which I had the honor to see come to fruition. Me and Ron also shared the same love of singing…he was an amazing singer and songwriter. I will miss those days at my house singing karaoke songs like Rocket Man and Sunglasses at Night. Ron was also probably the best hairdresser in LA (he was the reason for my crazy hair ;) A man of many talents and friends, I will miss you dearly my friend and I will see you soon on the other side. They better have a karaoke machine in heaven ;) R.I.P RON

May 26, 2009 - Empty Cities

All of us here at LRO are outraged by the California Supreme Court's decision to not overturn Proposition 8, a measure that wrestles from the hands of law abiding citizens the right to marry whomever they choose. It is a dark day in this Empty City.

The long version of Empty Cities is not going to be released on the new album. In light of today's very damaging decision towards the civil rights of all, I think it speaks to the issue. I want to offer the long version of Empty Cities under my "Pay What You Want" deal and encourage everyone to speak up, and stand up, for the rights of all people to love and live as they choose. This will be the only place you can get the song in my mixed and produced long version.

New Song WAR - Pay What You Want

A few weeks ago I gave away a free song because I love you all and wanted to give you something to show this. The truth be known, I would like to give you all something for free all the time, but the reality is that I am a struggling musician and I don't make millions of dollars a year like Radiohead, Prince, etc. I would like to go the way of Radiohead and other artists who have decided to sometimes give their music away for free because that would be awesome. Of course, I don't have arena tours to support that kind of gift. To give you an idea of what goes into a recording, first, I gotta write it (that's the easy part!). Then it has to be recorded, and not just in my in-house studio. It has to be recorded in multiple parts and in multiple locations. It has to be mastered and sometimes remastered. And then there is the engineer. And the band who all need to be paid..etc. It is expensive for someone like me, and without label support it would just be impossible. For that reason, and because my music is the only thing that supports me and the continuation of my art, and the recording of new songs, or the funding to tour, I can't give away my music even though I really want to. So in these struggling times, I thought perhaps we could all meet halfway. I am going to put a song up for you to download. You can donate a .01, or you can donate whatever amount you want for it. Whatever you believe it is worth (to you) to have it. I think this is a way that music lovers can continue to support artists while making the music accessible for everyone. Everything is an experiment in life, so lets see how this one works out for everyone.

It has been quite an eventful few weeks and we wanted to give you some updates!

Lukas Rossi and friends are coming out with a holiday album! We are grateful to have the support of our good friends Lou Dawson (http://www.myspace.com/loudawsonmusic) and Mani Khaira (http://www.myspace.com/manikhaira). Tomorrow, our dear friend Oliver Pigott (http://www.myspace.com/oliverpigott) is coming over to write with Lukas…it is going to be an exciting winter with lots of yummy new treats to share!

Stars Down is preparing to embark on a fall tour of Canada. Our special guest, OURS, will be joining us on what is sure to be an incredible tour. If you haven’t checked out OURS, please do so…they are amazing and we are so privileged to have them as friends (http://www.ours.net). Come see us on this tour…you definitely will be glad you did! Tour dates will be announced soon!!!

Guess what arrived on our doorstep on Saturday? THE LIVE AT THE MINT DVD!!! It will be shipping to your households very, very soon. Canadian deliveries will take a bit longer but we promise the DVD is on its way.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude, affection, and appreciation for our friends Chrisy Conlin and Claire McCallister. They did a terrific job getting our Street Team up and running and have laid a terrific foundation on which we will continue to build. We are so proud of their accomplishments, and extremely grateful for all the effort, time and dedication they put forth.

Debbie Lapointe and Lisa Dicks have graciously offered to jump right in and help get us ready for this next adventure. This week was really amazing. On Thursday, Lukas did a live video chat and for those that were watching/listening, lots of clues about the future were dropped….for instance, you want to know what is on our new album??? What an exciting few weeks it has been since the debut of STARS DOWN! So much has happened: shows are being booked, the website is launched, the Stars Down MySpace is getting loads of plays, and there is so much more to come!

First, as you all know, Stars Down has several shows coming up, and more in the works. The current tour dates that are confirmed are:

It has been brought to our attention that PayPal was recently adding a $3.00 shipping charge to a few of our digital download selections. There is, of course, no shipping charge for something you download, so we have addressed the problem and it is fixed.

For those in the last few days who were affected by this, please accept our most sincere apology for the inconvenience. In the meantime, those who had $3.00 tacked on to the end of your puchase have been refunded this charge to the PayPal e-mail address you used for purchase.
