Lukas entered the stage as if he was on a big white horse and takes over.......it's a moment of mad, impetuous exhilaration. He takes his place on the stool...his locks of hair falling over his forehead, like a horse's mane, picks up his guitar....the time has arrived to welcome the dawn of a new adventure with Lukas....then he goes into the cover of "Here Comes The Rain", he sings this with a fresh and supple sensuality, having set a new standard of this song...he's always doing something spectacular to spring on his unsuspecting fans! He's such a jovial soul when interacting with the crowd...genuinely funny. Then he goes into "Sunrise"...his sagacity overflows, lighting the way for those souls with less illumination..."we forget how beautiful we are"....encouraging you to look beyond external appearance for a truer, more trinsic value. He has such spontaneous enthusiasm of a holy innocent, but at the same time, the wisdom of an ancient sage. He has a mind with a thousand eyes. He also sang "Dead Flower"...this song reminds me of how much Lukas has grown as a person & musician, he has found his foal like legs, which now carry him from stone to stone across the river of life, developing and gaining strength to gracefully propel him into a magnificent musician. His philosophic attitude can take you anywhere, you never know where it's going to take you, and you really don't care, because he's taking you into a passage of greater experience.
This is the second time I've been privileged to hear "Trust Me" live....this song is the candle of his childlike faith that will continue to glimmer through all the black holes and blind alleys. It's like, bring me your tears...go into the darkness, but put your hand in my faithful hand...it's better than any light and safer than a known way....how Lukas can bring light to where only shadows exist...how he has the magic that stirs our blood. He has beauty in so many forms and it is almost continuously present. He also sang "Memories Of You"...this song can make your whole body so cold no fire could ever warm it...time to bear up under loss; to fight bitterness of defeat and the weakness of grief; to victor over anger....to let it all go, when tears are close....that's my personal interpretation to myself. Lukas inspires you to look up with unquenchable faith in something ever more about to be. Lukas gives us his lighted face, eyes so bright, they sparkle and twinkle when he is amusing us with his refreshing humor...he encourages us to crave a greater grace. He sang "War"....how the human heart holds close it's dearest things, and bears the wounds, the scars of what life brings. Lukas continues to strengthen and increase my admiration for honest dealing....he softens our hearts with sympathy for those who sorrow and suffer. When he sang "Hallelujah"...a reminder that love is never lost. He just weeds our hearts of weariness, scatters every care, he gave me such comfort during this song, i only hope he feels the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with us. I love the way Lukas changes up songs, he uses his artistic talent to influence and raise the consciousness of his audience...he has such a inquisitive and independent mind! The beauty of Lukas's music lies partly in the fact that he does not keep it; he gives it away to all of us.
At M&G, i watched Lukas's interaction with everyone before me...I've noticed that whatever is on his mind and heart is almost instantly on his lips, quite refreshing! He has a unique way that he articulates his language and his impulse arises out of his intuition. People like to be loved, but also to be told that they are loved; the realm of silence is large enough beyond the grave, right?.....so, when it was my turn...i simply said, "We Just Love You!"...and then with that devilish-boyish grin said, aww..thank you baby. Third Time Was Definitely A Charm!
