Rockstar LUKAS ROSSI was in the house on Thursday night – you may remember him from the wildly popular ROCKSTAR:SUPERNOVA phenomenon a few years back – and I had the cool ‘trip’ of cooking, hanging, and smokin’ darts with Lukas and his handler for a couple of hours...funny, the song really does remain the same – no matter who you are, where you’ve been and what you’ve seen. We hit it off like old pals, and he spent some time getting to know our guests around the Supperclub room.

The evolution of rock takes another step forward with the formation of Daylight Division. The new quartet -- featuring Lukas Rossi (Rockstar Supernova) on Vocals, Marcos Curiel (P.O.D.) on Guitar, Joe Loeffler (formerly of Chevelle) on Bass and Dave Buckner (formerly of Papa Roach) on Drums -- have finished two songs and is in the studio working on their debut album.

"I don't watch much TV," Curiel says, "so I didn't really know about (Rossi). We talked on the phone and I sent him on a song at 1 p.m. and he got it back to me around 3 or 4 with tracks, vocals, harmonies and everything. I was just blown away."

Believe in what you’re doing, even if people say you suck and tell you that you’re never going to be anything. Every day is a new day and the greatest thing about being a human being is that we’re all individuals and we do things individually that are totally different from the guy next to you. And you being special in your own way in this world is something that no one else can duplicate.

Lukas is interviewed by Rogers TV at Norma Jeans in London Ontario.

To Rossi the “je ne sais quoi” of someone able to get onstage and command attention is something inherent to the individual. Forced to define “rock star,” he says it’s someone who affects people with their music, writes honest songs, and reaches deep within to express something true to them and their fans. All of which Rossi is attempting to do with his new project, Stars Down.

Music is full of ups and downs, it's a yo-yo, and when they chose me to be in that band I thought, 'This is it.' That wasn't the case, but it was an amazing time in my life, we had a great time and went around the world.

Rossi brought it home with a very rangy voice that was absolutely soothing one moment and curdling the next. But it is a beautiful instrument and he plays it with obvious talent. And he leaves every bit of himself on stage. His music is worn on his sleeve and taps into his emotions like a spigot into a keg of Labatt's Blue.

In fact, he's amazed at how well things are coming together on this tour, which is giving him a chance to work out the new songs before he gets together with his new band, Stars Down. They've got a new CD ready, "Moodswings," and are planning a tour.

As for his experience on the TV show, and with his band Rock Star Supernova, Rossi says he's grateful for the experience. In fact, he's still writing songs with Tommy Lee of Motley Crue/Pam Anderson fame.

"I thought it was gonna go on longer. I think my ego got blown a little out of proportion after it was all said and done, and coming back down to earth is obviously where I belong. Coming off that tour, it was like: `Where's all the glory?' But I like it where I am right now. If I have to pay my dues until I die, that's the way God wants it to be."

Rossi says material for Stars Down's debut album has been written, and they're in the midst of recording, as well as shopping for a deal. He's got a bunch of solo gigs lined up that will have him hustling from Montreal to Toronto to San Diego before the end of the month. And there continues to be plenty of activity on his website.

When it comes to music, Lukas Rossi is all work and no play.

The 29-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter, who is best known for winning the reality TV show Rock Star: Supernova, spent Halloween night doing media and rehearsing for his Canadian tour, which is now underway.

Lukas Rossi, a Canadian rock singer and the winner of Rock Star: Supernova, stopped by Tyler's home Tuesday before his solo acoustic concert at the Tila Tequila night club on Clarence Street.

"Lukas was pretty cool," said Ms. Huneault, who was put in touch with the heavy metal singer's publicist by someone from, of all places, her church.

Although the first album that's sprouted from Rock Star: Supernova hasn’t proven to be a big hit, it clearly has promise and its own steady following. The group is already preparing to release a second one before 2008. The spirited Rossi has been prepping his own solo album for release--and as well, kicks-off his much anticipated tour in Cali this week.

Former GUNS N' ROSES and current ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA guitarist Gilby Clarke will be today's (Saturday, April 28) special guest on Camp Freddy Radio, which airs on Indie 103.1 FM in Los Angeles, California.
